The first step in developing visual stories is Conceiving. Before you begin building slides, plan out what your message is going to be. Conceiving contains three major parts:

Presentation development begins by first identifying and understanding your audience. Who are they?  What are they like? What are the issues that they struggle with? How do you want them to be different as a result of your presentation?

What is your point of view, and what things do you need to share to help people see the world from your perspective? Spending time developing your message helps clarify your Big Idea, create relevant content, anticipate resistance, and ensures your message connects to your particular audience.

When packaged in a story framework, your ideas become downright unstoppable. Organizing content according to story structure principles will allow you to motivate an audience to accept your idea and even activate them to help bring it to life.
